Accessing and sharing genomic and other health-related data is essential for international collaborative research. Genetic and health-related data is personal information, and as such, sharing any such data must be in line with data protection regulations. To assist researchers in navigating these regulations and to understand their impact on cross-border data sharing, the DS-I Africa Law project has developed a series of country guides on cross-border data sharing in 12 African countries, namely South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ghana, The Gambia, Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Botswana, Cameroon, and Rwanda.
